Announcements

  • MARY PEACOCK SHELTER-IN-PLACE 9/28/23 @ 2:30 PM

Dear parents, guardians, and community members,

We want to keep you informed about an incident that took place today at Mary Peacock School, similar to the event that took place last week.

Today, at approximately 2:30 PM, shortly after school was out, noises resembling loud bangs were reported in the forest behind Mary Peacock, off school grounds. As a result, Mary Peacock initiated a voluntary shelter-in-place procedure.

Local law enforcement, specifically the Sheriff's Department, was promptly notified and took charge of investigating the situation. Law enforcement reported back that there was no credible threat.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the shelter-in-place procedure was lifted, and the regular after-school activities continued.

We recognize that having two incidents in close succession can be concerning. Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are always our highest priority. We will continue to take every measure to ensure their protection and keep you informed promptly.

If you have any further questions or need clarification on either event, please don't hesitate to contact the school administration.
