False Fire Alarm and Evacuation at Del Norte High School

    **UPDATE 6-8-2023**

We are writing to update you on the incident that occurred on Monday, 6/6 at our school. After a thorough investigation, it has been determined that no student pulled the fire alarm. Instead, the alarm was triggered due to sawdust getting stuck in the module of one of the alarms in the woodshop.

We want to assure everyone that at no time was there a fire or any immediate danger to our students, staff, or faculty. The safety and well-being of our students are of paramount importance, and in accordance with our emergency protocols, the school was promptly evacuated as a precautionary measure.

    Dear Del Norte High Community,

We would like to address an incident that occurred earlier today at our school. It has come to our attention that a student pulled the fire alarm, resulting in a temporary evacuation of the premises. We want to assure everyone that at no time was there a fire or any immediate danger to our students, staff, or faculty.

The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and in accordance with our emergency protocols, the school was promptly evacuated as a precautionary measure. Our security personnel, in collaboration with local authorities, promptly responded to the situation and conducted a thorough investigation.

We would like to remind everyone that tampering with fire alarms or engaging in any activity that disrupts the normal operation of the school is strictly prohibited. We take these incidents seriously and appropriate action will be taken to minimize these occurrences.

We want to express our gratitude to all students, staff, and emergency responders for their cooperation and swift response during this incident.

Del Norte High School remains committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all. We will continue to review our safety protocols to ensure that incidents like these are minimized and appropriately handled.

Please feel free to reach out to the school administration if you have any questions or concerns regarding this incident. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
