SEAMLESS SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM
Del Norte County is excited to announce the launch of the Seamless Summer Food Program, ensuring that children and youth receive nutritious meals throughout the summer season. Meals will be distributed seamlessly from Monday to Friday each week at various locations across the county. This program is free of charge and available for kids and teens ages 0-18. Children will be given two meals per pickup, one for breakfast, and one for lunch. It is important to note that children MUST be present to receive meals.
The program operates from 10 am to 11 am, Monday through Friday, allowing families to conveniently pick up meals for their children. The program aims to provide nourishing meals to support the well-being of children during the summer break. It is an excellent opportunity for families to ensure their children receive the nutrition they need even when school is out.

- Bess Maxwell School:
Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
The Nutrition Services Department is pleased to announce that in an effort to continually improve the quality of lunches we serve students, we have adopted the newest USDA Nutrition Standards for our school meals.
Our goal is to enhance the diet and health of school children, help mitigate the childhood obesity trend, and support learning by promoting healthy habits that will last a lifetime!
