  • Preschool & TK Community Survey

The Del Norte Unified School District (DNUSD) requests information concerning preschool and Transitional Kindergarten enrollment. To make informed decisions on Transitional Kindergarten and preschool programs for the 23-24 school year, DNUSD must collect this information.  Thank you for completing this survey!

  • Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Registration

This year the State of California is implementing new staffing requirements for transitional kindergarten classes the upcoming school year. If you have a child who will be entering transitional kindergarten or kindergarten next school year, I’d encourage you to begin the school registration process. To prepare for next year's changes and to ensure that your child has the best educational experience, we need to know how many students we’ll have for the upcoming school year in our TK and K programs. Registration packets for next year will be available at all of our district schools. Remember, the registration packets must be submitted to your child’s home school. For more information on registration or to find which school your child may attend, call us at 707-464-6141.

Dr. Will Cushman

Welcome to Joe Hamilton Elementary!

I'm so excited to be Principal of Joe Hamilton Elementary!

This is my 17th year in education. Most recently, I was Principal of Fairfield High School in the bay area for five years. I truly loved the staff and students of Fairfield High, but I did not love the triple-digit heat at my home in the Sacramento area!

My wife and I have two awesome boys, Chase and Ryan, who attend Del Norte schools. We also have a dog named Kaos and a cat named Jack. Del Norte county offers a fantastic climate, great opportunities for outdoor recreation, and the close connections of a small town. It's a wonderful place to be!

I try to be out on campus and in classrooms as much as possible, but you can always set up a time to meet with me by calling Chelsea in the front office. I'm looking forward to meeting you and working with you to support every student in growing and learning.

Go Sea Otters!

~Will
