Online privacy is more important than ever! We must keep our students safe.
As a school district, we must adhere to two laws that help maintain student safety online, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA). These laws apply to all websites, and software used in the classroom. This includes iPad apps, browser extensions and various other online resources. Example: Typing.com (site), Osmo Word (app), Read&Write (extension), Flubaroo (G-Suite add-on). Here's a brief video from the Department of Education that talks about FERPA and why online privacy is so important.
Approved Digital Resources
Because student privacy is so important the district has curated the list below of all digital resources approved for classroom use. Classrooms should not be using any digital resource that has not on this list. If you are unable to find an item, you may fill out the appropriate form below to request that it be added. If you find any corrections or updates that need to be made to the list you can email email@example.com.
