Citizens Oversight Committee

  • The Citizens' Oversight Committee (COC) was created in 2009 as a requirement to the Measure A bond voted on by the citizens of Del Norte on November 4, 2008.   Measure A is a $24,986,390 school facilities bond that must be used in our community, cannot be used for operating salaries and cannot be taken by the State.  For this type of bond, California law requires a board of at least 7 members to actively review and report on the proper expenditures of the taxpayer's money.  The Del Norte COC is comprised of 8 members including two members who are active in a business organization representing the business community, a member who is active in a senior citizens' organization, a member of a bona fide taxpayers' organization, a parent who is active in the DNUSD PTSO or school site council, two parents of Del Norte County students, and one at-large community member.  Please see the links below for more information on the activities of the Citizens' Oversight Committee.

If you wish to serve on this important committee, please review the committee bylaws for more information about the committee’s role and responsibilities and complete the attached application.  Completed applications should be mailed, faxed, or emailed to the Asst. Superintendent’s Office of the Del Norte Unified School District.
