A tradition that goes back more than a half-century makes its annual appearance Tuesday when the Del Norte All-County Music Night is presented.
Music starts at 6 p.m. in the Del Norte High School main gym.
Students in grades 5 through 12 will perform.
“It’s a great way to showcase how strong Del Norte’s music program is,”
said Daniel Sedgwick, director of the high school music department.
Set to perform are:
- The fifth-grade band of 230 students.
- The sixth-grade intermediate band of 110 students.
- The advanced seventh/eighth grade band of 103 students.
- The percussion ensemble features 40 students in grades 6-12.
- The sixth-through-12th-grade choir of 70 students.
For the younger students, it is often their first opportunity to play before
older musicians and a big audience.
“It provides a chance for our younger students to play in large ensembles,” Sedgwick said.
Seating is limited in the gym to parents and family. However, the event will be livestreamed at https://www.dnhigh.org/athletics/livesports
