Dates to Remember
This week, Monday through Friday, October 13th to 17th, all K–8 schools are on minimum-day schedules for parent-teacher conferences. If you haven’t heard from your child’s teacher and would like to schedule a meeting, please contact your school office. Also, on Monday, November 3rd, there will be no school due to a professional development day for all certificated staff.
Budget Forum Committee Meeting 10/16/2025
At this week’s Budget Forum Committee meeting, on Thursday, October 16 at 5:30 PM, we’ll share a presentation outlining the differences between the Del Norte Unified School District and the Del Norte County Office of Education, from governance to budgets. The meeting will take place in person at the district office in the board room. All are welcome to attend, participate, ask questions, and learn more about how schools function in Del Norte County.
Sports Update
It’s shaping up to be another exciting week in Warrior athletics!
On Tuesday, October 14, Girls’ Tennis will host Fortuna at Del Norte High at 3:30 PM. Varsity Girls’ Soccer will travel to Ferndale for a 4:00 PM match, while Volleyball heads to McKinleyville with JV taking the court at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 6:30 PM. On Wednesday, October 15, Cross Country will compete at home in Del Norte beginning at 3:00 PM, followed by Varsity Boys’ Soccer facing McKinleyville at Del Norte High School at 4:00 PM.
The action continues Thursday, October 16, with Girls’ Golf teeing off at the Del Norte Golf Course at 11:00 AM and JV Boys’ Soccer traveling to Brookings for a 4:00 PM match. On Friday, October 17, Warrior Football will host St. Bernard’s at Mike Whalen Field—JV kicks off at 5:00 PM, with Varsity under the lights at 7:30 PM.
Wrapping up the week, on Saturday, October 18, Varsity Volleyball will compete in tournament play at the Marshfield Tournament. Also that day, Varsity Girls’ Soccer will host St. Bernard’s at Del Norte High at 1:00 PM, while Varsity Boys’ Soccer will be on the road in Ferndale at 4:00 PM.
