Update to the Community 12/2/2024
Good afternoon, I’m Jeff Harris, Superintendent of Schools for Del Norte County, and this is the update for the week of December 2, 2024.
Dates to Remember
First, I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and refreshing Thanksgiving break. With that being said, I want to remind you that Winter Break begins at the end of this month, on Monday, December 23, 2024, and goes through Friday, January 3rd, of the new year. School will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Registration Now Open for the Inaugural Building Bridges Family Summit
Registration is now open for our first annual Building Bridges Family Summit, set to take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Crescent Elk Middle School from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. This event, the first of its kind in our community, is hosted by the Del Norte County Office of Education and is designed to foster learning and stronger connections within our community. It offers a full schedule of activities tailored to the needs of our families and is free of charge.
Participants will have access to a variety of workshops focusing on parenting strategies, navigating technology and safety, critical grade level transition preparation, and much more! In addition to informative sessions, attendees can enjoy complimentary lunch, refreshments, childcare, and the chance to win prizes!
I’d encourage our families and all members of our community to attend. Together we can help bridge the gap between home and school.
You can register at dnusd.org/summit to save your spot as space may be limited.
