Del Norte Unified School District’s Special Services Department invites families to participate in our upcoming IEP Empowerment Series, a six-session opportunity designed to help parents and guardians better understand the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and their role as key members of their child’s educational team.

Sessions will be held weekly at Del Norte Community School and will cover topics including parent rights, eligibility, present levels, IEP goals, educational benefits, academic and related services, accommodations and modifications, behavioral and mental health supports, and options for consent and dispute resolution.

Session Schedule:
February 5 – Parent Rights and IEP Overview

February 12 – Eligibility & Present Levels

February 19 – Educational Benefits & IEP Goals

February 26 – Special Factors, Behavior & Mental Health Supports

March 5 – Academic Services, Related Services & Accommodations/Modifications

March 12 – Parent Consent & Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

Daily Sessions:
Session A: 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Lunch Provided

Session B: 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Light Dinner Provided
Childcare Available
