The mission of Del Norte County Unified School District's Title VI American Indian Education Program is to support the efforts of local educational agencies, Indian Tribes and organizations, post-secondary institutions, and other entities to meet the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students so that such students can meet the same challenging State Student Academic Achievement Standards as all other students are expected to meet.

* NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The mission of Del Norte County Unified School District's Title VI Indian Education Program is to provide services, activities, and curriculum support for the unique cultural, historical, and academic needs of American Indian children for their success and future prosperity.

The purpose of this public hearing is to give students, parents of Indian children, teachers and representatives of Indian Tribes an opportunity to offer recommendations on the Indian Education program prior to the submission of 2024/2025 grant application.

 

The Del Norte Indian Education Program, Title VI, will hold a Public Hearing on May 6th, 2024 at 5:30pm. The hearing will take place at the Districts' EpiCenter, 1200 Marshall St Crescent City CA 95531 and via ZOOM conferencing.

2023/2024 New Excused Absence for Cultural Ceremonies & Events

Will your family be participating in a Cultural Ceremony or Event this coming school year?

A new law, AB516, allows students to be excused from school "for the purpose of participating in a cultural ceremony or event."   Ed. Code 48205(a)(11)

Students leave with an Independent Study Contract and receive Tutoring when they return!

Ask your school for Independent Study BEFORE you leave!
