Extended School Year (ESY) Program

What is ESY?

The Extended School Year (ESY) program provides special education and related services to eligible students with disabilities beyond the regular school year. This program ensures that students maintain their skills and continue progressing toward their educational goals.


Program Dates and Times:

  • Start Date: June 16, 2025
  • End Date: July 11, 2025
  • Non-Student Days: June 19, July 4
  • Total ESY Days: 20 days with 2 Holidays 18 days of Instruction 
     

Program Locations and Schedule:

Preschool:

  • Location: Mary Peacock Elementary
  • Time: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

Elementary (K-5):

  •   Location: Mary Peacock Elementary
  •   Time: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (Monday - Friday)


Secondary (6th-12th Grade):

  •   Location: Del Norte High School Campus
  •   Time: 8:45 AM - 12:45 PM (Monday - Friday)


Adult Transition Program:

  •   Location: *Regular school year location
  •   Time: 8:50 AM - 12:50 PM (Monday - Friday)


Eligibility:

  • Students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) indicating the need for ESY services.
  • Determination made by the IEP team based on criteria such as regression, recoupment, critical skill areas, and the nature/severity of the disability.

Program Highlights:

  • Individualized instruction tailored to each student's needs.
  • Highly qualified special education teachers and support staff.
  • Focus on maintaining and enhancing academic, social, and life skills.
  • Engaging activities designed to promote learning and development.


Child Nutrition Services:

  • Meals will be provided at all program locations.


Transportation:

  • Transportation services will be provided. Route information will be communicated to families prior to the first day.


Registration:

  • Families who have not yet registered can use the digital link to register their child.
  • Students with ESY services in their IEP will be added to class rosters before the start date.
