School Closures
The School Board unanimously voted today to close all Del Norte Unified District schools, which includes all District operated preschools, and the County Superintendent authorized the closure of schools operated by the Del Norte County Office of Education.

There is a person who is currently being tested for COVID-19 in Del Norte County. This case has not been confirmed and is only a presumption at this time. We have been informed that this individual is not an employee, parent, or student in the School District.

Dear Del Norte Unified Parents/Guardians,
As we have since January 24, we want to continue to provide you with the latest information about the coronavirus. As of today, the risk for contracting the coronavirus remains low, and there are no cases in Del Norte County. Unlike in other countries, there is no community transmission in the United States.

COVID-19 Update : Tue., Feb. 25 2020
Recently, DNHS has received calls regarding the potential for DNHS students returning from Japan carrying the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The District has been in contact with the Del Norte Department of Public Health, which was fully aware of the travel, and the Department confirmed that the risk for COVID-19 is low in Del Norte and that no cases have been confirmed.

It has come to the attention of the Del Norte Public Health Department that there is a current Facebook posting of "positive coronavirus at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent
City" which seems to be creating some alarm.
