We need help from the community to gather the information that will inform our planning for school options for the 20-21 school year. Completing this survey will help us better serve families of Del Norte County. Please answer the questions below based on students in your home for the 20-21 school year. All options would follow the state and local guidelines for health and safety. Three school model options will be presented in this survey. The school district would like to know which you would prefer for your children if all three options were available in the fall.

  • PRESS RELEASE:

The Del Norte County Unified School District and Del Norte County Office of Education have reached a tentative agreement with the local California School Employees Association (CSEA). Upon completion of the CSEA 610 process, which is the process for approval by both local members and the state CSEA office, classified staff will receive a 3% increase retroactive to July 1, 2019, as well as a $100.00 increase on the health and welfare bringing the annual District contribution for classified employees to $9,600.00.

The Board also recognizes that we are in unprecedented times and that the classified staff is on the frontlines of keeping our schools safe and clean, our students fed, our technology viable, and our daily operations functioning. While there will be a need to address ongoing costs in future budgets in light of our current economic situation, this year, in consideration of the extraordinary services rendered, the Board has also authorized a one time 0.5% pay supplement for all CSEA members.

  • Last night the Governor of California issued a stay at home order for all Californians. While we know that the current situation may cause some anxiety, please know that, we will continue to support our students, their families, and our community by continuing to provide alternative learning opportunities, guidance to families on local resources, programs to help our first responders, healthcare and essential services workers find childcare so that they can continue to serve our community, seamless food deliveries to youth from 0-18 years old, and other services that will be necessary in the upcoming days and weeks. Our goal is to keep our community safe and healthy. Thank you, in advance, for your help and patience, as we work through this unprecedented time.
