Senator Mike McGuire Announces California's Pledge of $2.5 Million to Del Norte Performing Arts Center

On November 17th, Senator Mike McGuire announced California’s pledge of $2.5 million to begin the construction of a new Performing Arts Center in Del Norte County.  With this new funding, the project has now reached a total of $4.5 million to begin the design phase of the center. The Performing Arts Center will allow for music, theater, dance, and spoken-word performances. It will also be a venue to display photography, sculpture, and other art forms. The center will provide an incredible venue to break down barriers and expand our understanding of each other and the world around us by giving Native American, Hmong, and Hispanic communities the ability to share their culture and art with the rest of Del Norte County.

The Performing Arts Center is scheduled to open its doors in mid-2028. There is a lot of work to be done, but with the amazing support of Nick and Lisa Rail and our local community, we know we can turn this dream into a reality.  For more information on how you can help, you can visit the Partnership for the Performing Arts at ppadelnorte.org
