Heroes In Education Nominations Now Open!

Nominations for our Heroes in Education campaign are now open! It would mean the world to us if you would tell us who YOU think is a real hero in education. A hero may be any staff member that works for the school district in any capacity and has impacted the life of a student or co-worker.

Heroes in Education Nomination Form: https://forms.gle/uk27ZzWM9Cd4r7Dc6

As part of our Heroes in Education campaign that highlights our classified and certificated staff. During that series, we recorded two podcasts each week focusing on different job families within our district and the county office of education. We had an amazing time hearing from those staff members why and how they contribute their valuable skills to ensure the best education for our students. You can listen to those podcasts by going to: https://soundcloud.com/michael-hawkins-890916695/sets/heroes-in-education

COVID-19 Update - Masking & Indoor Sports

For our COVID-19 update, Last Thursday night during the school board meeting, Dr. Aaron Stutz, DN Public Health Officer, presented the CDPH masking guidelines for indoor sports, which included the masking of all participants, regardless of activity.  Dr. Stutz fielded questions from school board members and heard comments from the public regarding the uses and impacts of masks when actively participating in indoor sports, such as basketball.  Dr. Stutz responded to the concerns discussed at the board meeting by working over the weekend to issue modified masking orders that allow for weekly testing in place of masking, when actively participating in indoor sports, and that encourage vaccinations and enhanced testing for those participating in unmasked sporting events. You can find the entire order on the front page of DNUSD.org.
